BLUEFIELD — Dazia Edwards scored 16 points to lead the Bluefield Beavers to their first girls basketball win of the season, defeating short-handed Montcalm 53-29 on Tuesday night.

Shelia Hopkins added 10 points for Bluefield, while Katelyn Thompson and Khadijah Brown canned eight apiece.

Montcalm, which has just five players available, was paced by Miranda Kendrick with 15 points. Hannah Johnson added eight.

Bluefield (1-3) will visit Graham on Friday. The Beavers lost to the G-Girls 44-37 last Wednesday.
