VAN — — Donnell Bonds notched 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Jaedon Burgess sank one of two free throws with 5.7 seconds left for the final margin of victory, as the Mount View Golden Knights won their first game of the season 46-44 against Van on Saturday.

Mount View led 23-22 at halftime and held the Bulldogs to three points in the third quarter, then hung on as Van missed its final shot.

Rashawn Brooks added 14 points for Mount View (1-6). The Bulldogs’ top scorer was Brandon Elswick with 26. He made four of Van’s six 3-pointers.

The Golden Knights play at River View on Tuesday.
