Liberty 48, Montcalm 44

MONTCALM — A big fourth-quarter rally brought the Lady Generals close to their first victory, but the Raiders from Raleigh County outscored them 5-1 in overtime.

Montcalm (0-6) scored 17 points in the final eight minutes of regulation to tie the game 43-43 and force an extra session.

Hannah Johnson scored 12 points and had nine rebounds for Montcalm. Heather Nicewander also had 12 points and pulled off three steals. Stormy Carver added 11 rebounds. Hannah Alexander had nine points and two assists.

Stacy Williams poured in 23 points for Liberty and Katie McGinnis added 12.

Montcalm plays Friday at home against Greenbrier West.
