PRINCETON — The Cavaliers locked up the second-best boys record in school history on Monday evening, running past their visitors from Richlands, Va.
Daniel Boothe, a sophomore, established a new school record with 92 steals in a season. The previous mark was 88, set in the 1995-96 season by Chris East, who is now an MCA assistant coach.
Boothe had 17 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals Monday. Caleb Janning recorded 18 points and five steals. Kenny Shrewsbury chipped in 12 points.
Nick Shortridge scored 18 points for Champions.
MCA (25-4) hosts Victory Baptist Academy, the top-ranked team in the West Virginia Christian Education Association, tonight at 7 p.m.
