COUNCIL, Va. — Laken Robinette controlled the boards late and helped Honaker hold off the Panthers to win the first ever Crooked Road Conference regular-season title.

The win gives the TIgers the top seed and a bye into the semifinals of this week’s conference tournament, and an automatic berth in next week’s regional playoffs.

With 26 seconds remaining, Honaker led 58-57. Robinette was fouled as she pulled down a defensive rebound and hit one free throw for the final margin. She had seven rebounds in the fourth period alone.

Robinette finished with 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for Honaker, and Tara Deel scored 13 points.

Twin Valley’s Kara Goodman and freshman Alexis Vance each had 17 points.
