WYTHEVILLE, Va. — The Giles Spartans hit nine of 10 3-point tries in the first quarter and finished off a 2-1 performance in the George Wythe Holiday Tournament on Wednesday night with an 83-63 win over Tazewell.
Drew Harless knocked down 12 points and Tyler Canaday and Dakoda Shrader added 11 points each for the Spartans, who led 34-14 at the end of the first quarter.
Tazewell, which is still winless, was led by Juwan Jordan with 18 points and Nick Elkins with 15. The Bulldogs host Bland County on Saturday night.
Giles plays George Wythe on Saturday at Floyd County High School.
