PEARISBURG, Va. — In a contest tied after the first and third quarters, the Lady Wave pulled out a two-point victory in their intra-county clash.
Maggie Guynn, who scored 19 for Narrows, made a late free throw for the game’s final point after Giles’ Kiersten Shrader hit a trey to cut the Lady Spartans’ deficit to one. Narrows made 25 of 33 free throws in the game. Courtney Smith added 12 points, going 8-for-8 from the foul line.
Tanisha Flinchum of Giles led all scorers with 22 points, and Shrader chipped in 17.
Giles plays at home Wednesday against Radford, while Narrows travels to Rural Retreat.
