In the high school nightcap of Monday's Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Showcase, PikeView junior Madison May scored 15 points in the first quarter on the way to a game and MLK Showcase high of 30 to pace the Lady Panthers, who ran past Grundy 89-41.
Lyndsay Hatfield finished with 17 and Courtney White contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. May had eight rebounds, while the Hatfield sisters had six assists each.
Emily Lane topped the Lady Golden Wave with 15.
PikeView scored the opening nine points of the game and never trailed in picking up its ninth win of the campaign against only two losses.
The Lady Panthers travel to Greenbrier East Wednesday. Grundy, now 4-6, will play at Honaker Tuesday evening.
