Honaker forced nine turonvers on Grundy’s first nine possessions and maintained a comfortable margin in Tuesday’s opener.
The turnovers nearly evened out as the team’s traded buckets much of the rest of the first half. Megan Ray tossed in a game-high 20 points and Madison Musick scored 16 points to lead the Lady Tigers, who earned their sixth straight win.
Honaker assisted on 12 of 17 field goals in the first half, shooting 62.9 percent (17-of-27) from the field before halftime. The biggest margin was 22 points.
Freshman Cassie Keene scored 12 points and Emily Lane added 11 for the Lady Wave (7-8).
Kaytlyn Shelton dished out eight assists and had three steals for Honaker (13-5). Six different players had five or more rebounds, two or more assists and two or more steals for the Lady Tigers.
