The Lady View raced out to a 16-0 advantage after one quarter and 26-0 before the Lady Bulldogs were able to get on the scoreboard.
Sophomores Paige Cooper and Katie Dobbs, along with freshman Kiersten Roberts all scored in double figures for the 10-5 Lady Raiders. Cooper led with 15, followed by Dobbs’ 12 and Roberts’ 11.
Freshman M. J. White was the Lady Bulldogs top point producer with 5.
Van, now 2-10, will play in the Cameron Tournament this Saturday, facing Paden City at 9 am while the Lady Raiders will visit Man Monday evening.
“We did some things pretty good defensively,” analyzed River View head coach Gehrig Justice. “We got a big lead and got a chance to play some of the younger girls to build some depth.”
The Lady Bulldogs are also young. Related head coach Elijah Harper, “Today we started two freshmen, two sophomores and a junior. We’re young, we’re real young.”
Dobbs pulled down 18 rebounds for the Lady Raiders, while Rebekah Christian recorded five steals.
