PRINCETON — After falling behind 22-15 in the first quarter on their home floor, the Mercer Christian Academy Cavaliers climbed back against Ballard Christian School on Saturday and used a 32-point third quarter to take control and record an 82-58 win on their home floor.
The Eagles from Monroe County held a 31-30 halftime lead.
Daniel Boothe had 12 of his 20 points for MCA in the third period, as he and Ryan Davis were productive in the paint. Davis concluded with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Boothe had eight rebounds, five steals and seven assists.
Zach Ward had 14 points for the Eagles; Bowles had 13 and Patrick Mullins netted 10.
As a team, Mercer Christian had 49 team rebounds. Luke Maranto had 11 of those.
Mercer Christian (20-3) plays Dayspring Christian on Thursday in Blacksburg.
