PRINCETON — The Princeton Tigers used balanced attack and some contributions from the bench to outscore Riverside 68-55 Tuesday night.
A Darnell Palmer three-point play in the first quarter gave Princeton an 11-9 lead and the Tigers never trailed thereafter, but the game was close throughout.
Princeton took a 38-31 lead to the locker room at halftime, in part on the strength of Zen Clements’ eight points off the bench.
In the second half, Princeton stretched its lead to as many as 10 points in the third quarter, but could not shake Riverside until back-to-back Ryan Meadows’ layups in the final two minutes.
Meadows led a balanced Princeton attack with 15 points, Hunter Walters added 12, and Darnell Palmer had 11 while Clements tallied 10.
The Warriors’ Marcus Reed scored a game-high 21 points, while Jacob Billanti added 15 and Rayshawn Payne canned 11.
With the win, Princeton is 5-4 while Riverside drops to 3-8.
Princeton will travel on Thursday to Huntington.
