In Friday night’s girls opener, PikeView’s Madison May wrapped up a week’s worth of 20-plus point scoring, firing up 25 points in a 61-38 win over Nicholas County.
“I was really proud of the girls today. We’re playing better and playing really good defense,” said Lady Panthers head coach Karen Miller. “The only thing we’ve got to work on is boxing out and staying out of foul trouble.”
May, who had 10 rebounds, three assist and two steals, averaged 25 points per game for three games this week. She is within 99 points of hitting her career 1,000-point mark. She finished Friday’s came carrying four fouls.
Teammate Ashley Scott scored 23 points. She also pulled down six rebounds, collected three steals and delivered three assists.
Sparrow Void had nine points for the Lady Panthers (2-2) and Brianna Shrewsbury had five boards.
Olivia Carpenter scored 10 points to pace Nicholas County (3-1).
“We’ve played four good teams. Playing three games this week has been tough on our girls,” Miller said.
