NARROWS, Va. — The Narrows Green Wave collected a victory to tide them over through the holiday break, getting 26 points in the post from Cole Blaker en route to a 69-57 boys consolation game victory over the Bland County Bears in the Narrows Athletic Fund Christmas Tournament on Saturday.
Brady Patteson hit a pair of 3s on his way to 12 points for Narrows (5-3) and Chase Lawson scored 11 points and corralled eight rebounds. Steven Dunford added 10 points. Austin Evans, filling in at the point for injured guard Landon Patteson, scored eight points and Morgan Welch made key defensive contributions off the bench.
Jacob Watters hit three treys and scored 23 points for Bland County (2-4). Jon Bright, Ethan Cook and Ty Ritter also contributed to the Bears' production outside the arc.
Narrows takes a break until traveling to Eastern Montgomery on Jan. 2. Bland County plays Tazewell at home on Monday.
