NARROWS, Va. — The James Monroe Mavericks were the guest team in Friday’s late game of the annual Narrows Athletic Fund Christmas Tournament. They turned the tables on their hosts with a second-half flurry, topping the Narrows Green Wave 66-48 in the boys semifinal.
The Mavericks (3-0) forced numerous turnovers in the third quarter, contributing to a 20-5 scoring outburst in the turning point of the contest.
Dominic Lewis tossed in 23 points to lead James Monroe. Caleb Spencer sank four 3-pointers in the first half and wound up with 18 points.
Cole Blaker matched Lewis for game-high scoring honors with 23 points, and Chase Lawson had 11 for Narrows (4-3).
