TOLSIA — The Bluefield Lady Beavers won for the eighth time in nine games on Saturday, placing four players in double-figure scoring to defeat Tolsia’s Lady Runnin’ Rebels 66-56 in Wayne County.
Alyssa Lester led Bluefield’s attack with 19 points, followed by Dani Janutolo (16), Jia Coppola (13) and Autumn Spangler (12). The Beavers (9-3) pulled out to a 36-23 halftime advantage and held off their hosts’ comeback tries.
Tolsia (5-4) worked the perimeter against the Bluefield defense and hit nine 3-pointers. Freshman guard Dena Jarrells made six treys on her way to 31 points.
Bluefield visits Mount View on Monday night.
