HONAKER, Va. — Tanner Robinette gets his share of the credit for Honaker's 19-0 start and deservedly so.
The 6-foot-8 senior's athletic supporting cast gets its share, too, and with good reason. Honaker smothered Twin Valley all night in a 71-28 Crooked Road Conference win Friday night at A.P. Baldwin Gymnasium.
Robinette was the leader, as usual, on both ends of the floor. He posted a triple-double with game-highs of 23 points, 26 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Honaker (19-0) held the Panthers (8-7) to eight points in the entire second half to remain undefeated and move one step closer to a CRC regular season title.
"I was tremendously pleased with our defensive effort here tonight," Honaker coach Marcus Dunham said. "We emphasized defense yesterday in practice. We wanted to throw a couple of different looks at them."
No one scored in double figures for Twin Valley.
Brett Boyd provided the short-handed Tigers with enough offense on his own in the first half. The freshman wing hit five 3-pointers and scored all of his 18 points before the intermission.
The Tigers opened the game on a 13-2 run.

Sykes 4, Wagner 2, Mullins 4, Payne 1, Shortridge 7, McClanahan 7, Cooper 0, Owens 0, Webb 0.
Boyd 18, Hilton 12, Stinson 3, Robinette 23, Eaton 1, Wilson 4, Coleman 6, Harman 4.
