ROSE RIDGE, Va. — One night after a big win in the Group 1A ranks
Twin Valley threw a scare into one of the top 2A teams in the state.
The Lady Panthers built a seven point lead halfway through the fourth quarter before Kayla Mullins and Ivvy Gulley led Ridgeview to a 62-55 come-from-behind win Saturday evening.
Mullins scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and led a ferocious fullcourt press in the fourth when she claimed three of her seven steals to lead the Lady Wolfpack.
Gulley had four of her six steals in the final period, when Ridgeview (15-1) forced 11 turnovers to erase a 48-41 deficit and mount a 16-2 run.
Lexy Vance contributed a double-double with 22 points and 10 boards and Kim Lester tossed in 15 points to lead Twin Valley, which came in off a huge conference win Friday at Honaker.
"That was a big worry for us, having a letdown the night after having a big win at Honaker," Twin Valley coach Tommy Crigger said. "But I was pleased.
