Wyoming East 62, Capital 43: Class AA No. 1 Wyoming East bounced back from its first loss of the season with a convincing win over Class AAA Capital Friday in the Big Atlantic Classic at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
Kara Sandy led the Lady Warriors with 22 points and eight rebounds. Meghan Davis added 11 points and eight rebounds and freshman Jasmine Blankenship had 10. Fellow freshman Emily Saunders eliminated Capital’s inside prowess with 11 blocks and finished with a triple-double.
Saunders had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Capital was led by Jertaya Hall and Alex Gray with 11 apiece.
Wyoming East (16-1) travels to the Charleston Civic Center Tuesday to play Chapmanville in the Little General Classic.
