Hurley 45 Council 38: The Lady Rebels also needed a fourth-period rally to do their part in Hurley's 4-game sweep in Friday's varsity-jv marathon.
Ariel Endicott and Alison Bandy each scored 14 points for the Lady Rebels in a game that was tied at 32-32 after a free throw by Council freshman Sydney Stevens with 3:41 remaining.
A Carlee Coleman free throw with 2:33 left gave Hurley (7-13) the lead for good, but Council was still within one point when a 3-pointer by Alisha Hunt cut the Rebels lead to 39-38 with 28 seconds remaining. Bandy hit six straight free throws in the final 21 seconds to protect Hurley's lead.
Hunt finished with 15 points and her sister, Leann Hunt scored 10 points for the Lady Cobras. Breanna Stacy added nine points and 15 boards for Hurley.
