PRINCETON — Center Shaelyn Shafer scored 28 points, helped by an 8 for 8 performance at the foul line, to lift Nicholas to the upset of Class AAA No. 8 Princeton.
Kristen McGirl hit five 3-point goals and tallied 13 points, while Lauren Young finished with 11 points for the 12-7 Grizzlies.
Hanna Preservati paced Princeton with 17 points. McKenzie Akers had 16 points and seven assists, while Kendria Perkins notched 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Princeton (14-5) hosts Woodrow Wilson at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
