BRISTOL, Va. — Patrick Henry led from start to finish, but didn’t pull away from Honaker until the fourth quarter in their first round contest at the Virginia High Tip-off Classic at the Bearcat Den.
Kasey Uecker tossed in a game-high 16 points and Jaymee Copenhaver added 13 for the Rebels.
Haley Brown scored 11 points, nine on three second-half 3-pointers that kept the Tigers in the game.
Brown’s two treys near the end of the third quarter got Honaker within 35-34. Patrick Henry started an 8-0 run before the end of the period and built a 43-34 lead on a 3 by Jade Miller with 4:38 remaining.
Morgan Stevens and Kathryn Harrison each added nine points for the Tigers.
Patrick Henry plays Richlands tonight at 8:30 p.m.
