ROCKY GAP, Va. — Asher Dillow scored 32 points and Darryl Clark added 25, as the hot-shooting Bland County Bears defeated Tazewell 82-80 on Friday night at Rocky Gap High School.
Bland County made 13 3s on the night, including five by Clark and three from Dillow. Chase Hankins had two 3s and 16 points.
Dillow also had five rebounds and five assists, while Clark dished out six assists and pulled down three boards. John Robert Miller also drew three charging calls on defense.
John Walker hit a trio of 3s to finish with 25 points, while Jalen Jordan added 21. Noah Walker tallied 14 for the Bulldogs.
Bland County trailed 77-72 with 3:04 left, but Dillow — who was 7-for-7 from the free throw line _ hit six straight from the charity stripe, and that was followed a 10-0 run from the Bears, building an 82-77 lead with 50 seconds left in the game.
The Bears (6-2) return to the Rocky Gap court on Monday to play Floyd County. Tazewell (5-2) will host defending Division 1 state champion Galax on the same evening.
