PEARISBURG, Va. — Kayla Via scored 10 points and Kelsie Mann contributed eight points and 10 rebounds to lead James Monroe to its first win over the season with a 34-26 decision against Giles on Tuesday night.
James Monroe (1-2) also received eight points and five assists from Emily McKinney.
Giles (2-4) was paced by Courtney Estep and Karli Beechler with eight points each. Beechler and Amber Bradley had 10 rebounds apiece.
Both clubs will play in the Narrows Christmas Tournament on Thursday at Narrows High School. The Spartans will face George Wythe at 6 p.m., followed by Narrows and James Monroe at 8.
