PRINCETON — McKenzie Akers burned the nets for 26 points and two other Princeton Tigerettes joined her in double-figure scoring as Princeton blasted Winfield 63-34 on the Ball Court on Monday evening.
The Tigerettes (2-0) leaped to a 25-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and were ahead 34-20 at halftime.
Khadija Payne scored 12 points and cleared 14 rebounds, while Jessica Inman had seven assists and seven boards. Rachel Surface added 12 rebounds. Akers also had seven assists and shot 4 for 7 from three-point range.
Winfield (2-1), which lost its first game of the season, got 15 points from Mara Rhoades.
