Blue Devils overwhelm Rebels
Hurley (39) Vs. Castlewood (64)
Dec 07, 2012
Castlewood 64, Hurley 39

BRISTOL, Va. _ In another consolation contest Castlewood upended Hurley 64-39. The Lady Rebels kept it close in the first quarter, but Castlewood began to pull away and led 34-20 at halftime.
“We have seven sophomores,” said Hurley coach Randy Wimmer. “We’re kind of small size wise and it hurts when you miss around 16 layups and nine foul shots.
“This is a big atmosphere to play in and we’re not used to this kind of pressure, but we will get everything straightened out.”
Adrianna Cline had a huge outing for the Lady Rebels with a game-high 21 points. Kourtney Cook added 10 points.
Nine of the 10 players on the Castlewood roster scored. Caitlyn Fleming led the way with 14 points. McKinley Isaacs and Lexie Kennedy added 11 points each.
Hurley (1-2) will continue tournament play today when they battle rival Haysi in what will be a non-district contest.
