BRISTOL, Va. — Patrick Henry led from start to finish, but didn’t pull away from Honaker until the fourth quarter in their first round contest at the Virginia High Tipoff Classic at the Bearcat Den.
Kasey Uecker tossed in a game-high 16 points and Jaymee Copenhaver added 13 for the Rebels, which won 52-42.
Haley Brown scored 11 points, nine on three second-half 3-pointers that kept the Tigers in the game.
Brown’s two treys near the end of the third quarter got Honaker within 35-34. Patrick Henry started an 8-0 run before the end of the period and built a 43-34 lead on a 3 by Jade Miller with 4:38 remaining.
Morgan Stevens and Kathryn Harrison each added nine points for the Tigers.
