CLINCHCO, Va. _ In the BDD boy’s consolation contest, Hurley kept it close for eight minutes then Council pulled away for a 57-43 win.
“We started going inside more in the second quarter, that’s something we’ve been working on,” Council coach Patrick wade said. “It’s the third time we’ve played Hurley so we put in a few new things in practice.”
The Cobras exploded for 20 points in the second quarter to take a 29-20 lead at intermission. They continued to roll in the second half, Hurley was unable to stop the surge.
Cameron Presley (15 points), Josh Viers (14) and Justin Mathis (11) led the Council offense.
Nick Gibson (10) was the only player in double figures for Hurley.
