COAL CITY — Keisha Johnson outscored Independence by herself, scoring 15 to 14 for the Patriots, who fell to Mount View 31-14 on Saturday night.
Mount View actually trailed 10-7 at the break, but the Patriots managed just four points in the second half.
Tamia Joyce added eight points for Mount View (10-4), which will host James Monroe on Tuesday. Independence dropped to 3-15.
This is the third straight year that Mount View has won at least 10 games.
