ELLISTON, Va. — The Bland County Lady Bears broke out of a three-point halftime deficit on Monday night at Eastern Montgomery and outscored their hosts 23-4 in the third quarter on their way to a 50-35 road win.

“It was the best we’ve played all year,” said Bland County coach Jason Lambert about the third quarter effort.

Paige Brinkley was 5-for-7 from three-point range and scored a game-high 17 points for the Lady Bears (2-2). Jessie Blessing had 10 points, five assists and seven steals, and Kelsey Dinger had 11 rebounds to go with nine points.

Top scorer for Eastern Montgomery (2-4) was Hilary Wilson with 10.

Bland County plays Wednesday at Rural Retreat.
