FAIRLEA — Essence Brown scored 19 points, and Bluefield forced 43 turnovers, leading the Beavers to a 74-26 win over Point Pleasant in the opening round of the Greenbrier East Christmas Tournament on Friday afternoon.
Bluefield (4-1) will play either Greenbrier East or Philip Barbour in the championship game today at 5 p.m.
Freshman Dani Janutolo had a double-double for the Beavers with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Emaleigh Gallinger added 11 points and five steals, while Alyssa Lester contributed 10 points and four steals.
Point Pleasant (1-5) was led by Marlee Bruner with 14 points.
