BRISTOL, Va. _ Wednesday’s nightcap at Virgina High's Borderline Classic was a game of runs, big runs by the dominant Bearcats.
Virginia High went on a 10-0 run to open the game and a 15-0 spurt to end the first half staked the Lady Bearcats to a 49-18 halftime lead.
A 17-0 run to open the second half helped open up a commanding, 67-18 advantage, one that grew to 74-23 by the start of the final period.
Morgan Whittemore scored 19 points and Teonna Austin and Hayley Bryant added 18 apiece for Virginia High.
Adrianna Cline led Hurley with 10 points.
