Chilhowie 51, Hurley 37

A couple of teams kept streaks intact in the opening game of the tournament. Chilhowie (6-0) remained undefeated and the Rebels are still winless. The Warriors took a 51-37 win over the Hurley (0-4).

Bailey Robertson poured in a game-high 31 points to lead all scorers for the Warriors. Nick Gibson powered the Rebels with 14 points, including two 3’s.

"We're playing better, we're executing a little better," said Hurley coach Mark Cooper, whose club starts four seniors but also relies heavily on two freshmen and a sophomore. "We're still not executing well around the rim and we still can't shoot free throws.

"If we do that tonight we win. We've had three games like that. We could easily be 3-1 instead of 0-4. It's a process, we got to learn how to play together and do the little things. The little things will make us better."
