ROCKY GAP, Va. — Galax remains in first place in the Mountain Empire District, having defeated Bland County 53-36 on Wednesday night at Rocky Gap High School.
Hailey Cassell paced the Maroon Tide (11-3, 4-0) with 14 points, while Bailey Shumate added 10.
Bland County, which fell behind 25-10 at the opening half, was led with 11 points by Jessie Blessing.
The Lady Bears (8-6, 2-2) will travel Friday to Fort Chiswell.
