River View 71, Council 26
In the girls varsity opener River View jumped out to a 30-5 lead and cruised to a win over a young Council squad that started three freshmen.
Kiersten Roberts scored 15 points, handed out eight assists, notched six steals, claimed seven rebounds and blocked four shots for the Raiders. Katie Dobbs posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards.
Lindsay Meade also played well for the Raiders, scoring 16 points. Paige Cooper had seven points, six steals and five assists, while Rebekah Christian added five steals.
Freshman Bree Ratliff scored eight points and senior Santana Stiltner added six points for Council.
River View will play Teays Valley at 9 a.m. in the Hoops Classic at Friday at West Virginia State.
