Mercer Christian 66, Covington Boys Home 63: The Cavaliers led once in the game, on two free throws by Chandler Scott with nine seconds left in the game on Tuesday in Princeton.
Daniel Boothe scored 37 points, including five 3s and 21 points in the second half to cut a 15-7 first quarter deficit to two at the break. He finished with six 3s and 10 rebounds in the game.
Mercer Christian outscored Covington 12-13 in the final period to pull out the win.
Scott added 19 points for the Mercer Christian (6-2), which plays Princeton in the Princeton Christmas Tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Mount View will play PikeView in the opener at 5:30.
