Tuesday’s varsity opener between the Tigers and Cobras was never close.
Honaker, which made as many shots (35) as Council’s point total, forced eight turnovers before the Cobras finally scored.
Laken Robinette posted a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds for Honaker, which opened the game on a 10-0 run and opened the second half on a 14-2 spurt to build a 56-16 lead.
Five Tigers had eight or more rebounds, including Madison Musick, who also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Morgan Stevens added 11 boards and Meghan Meade hauled in 10 rebounds.
Council had two scorers in double figures, led by Leann Hunt with 14 points. Adriane Rasnake added 12 points.
