HINTON — The Princeton Tigerettes couldn’t stop Summers County’s Candace Brown.. However, the Bobcats had no answer for Princeton’s McKenzie Akers, Marissa Mullins and Hannah Preservati.
Those three Tigerettes powered Princeton past Summers County 78-73 on Friday night.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 24-19 lead after the first, but Princeton tied it at the half at 42-all. The difference came in the third when the Tigerettes outscored Summers County 21-13.
Akers finished with 23 points and Mullins paced her with 22. Preservati knocked down two triples as she ended with 17 points.
Brown had 41 points and 8 boards for Summers County, who has now lost two of their last three games. Hayley Shrewsbury’s 8 points was the next highest for Bobcats.
Princeton welcomes Ripley on Tuesday while Summers County travels to Valley (Fayette) today at 5 p.m.
